The Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction Recap: Laline Paull || The Bees

I was intrigued by the world of Fiona 717, a low-ranking bee who develops in unexpected ways. I loved the way Paull combined the cruelty and atrocities in the bee world (including fierce fights with major enemy: the wasp) with almost poetic descriptions of flowers, honey and telepathic dancing. I was pleasantly surprised by Fiona 717 and her fellow bees. An absolute contender!
